- AmdFsr3Runtime now probes both the legacy ffxFsr3* API and the newer
generic ffxCreateContext/ffxDispatch API; selects whichever the loaded
runtime library exports (GenericApi takes priority fallback)
- Generic API path implements full upscale + frame-generation context
creation, configure, dispatch, and destroy lifecycle

initialization failures are actionable
- FSR3 runtime init failure log now includes path kind, error string,
and loaded library path for easier debugging

missing VK permutation headers; DXC auto-downloaded on Linux/Windows
MSYS2; macOS reads from PATH (CI installs via brew dxc)
- CMakeLists: add upscalers/include to probe include dirs, invoke
permutation script before SDK build, scope FFX pragma/ODR warning
suppressions to affected TUs, add runtime-copy dependency on wowee
- UI labels updated from "FSR2" → "FSR3" in settings, tuning panel,
performance HUD, and combo boxes
- CI macOS job now installs dxc via Homebrew for permutation codegen
- Motion vectors: single unjittered reprojection matrix (80 bytes) instead of
two jittered matrices (160 bytes), eliminating numerical instability from
jitter amplification through large world coordinates
- Sharpen pass: fix Y-flip for correct UV sampling, double-buffer descriptor
sets to avoid race with in-flight command buffers
- MSAA: auto-disable when FSR2 enabled, grey out AA setting in UI
- Accumulation: variance-based neighborhood clamping in YCoCg space,
correct history layout transitions
- Frame index: wrap at 256 for stable Halton sequence
Full FSR 2.2 pipeline with depth-based motion vector reprojection,
temporal accumulation with YCoCg neighborhood clamping, and RCAS
contrast-adaptive sharpening.
Architecture (designed for FSR 3.x frame generation readiness):
- Camera: Halton(2,3) sub-pixel jitter with unjittered projection
stored separately for motion vector computation
- Motion vectors: compute shader reconstructs world position from
depth + inverse VP, reprojects with previous frame's VP
- Temporal accumulation: compute shader blends 5-10% current frame
with 90-95% clamped history, adaptive blend for disocclusion
- History: ping-pong R16G16B16A16 buffers at display resolution
- Sharpening: RCAS fragment pass with contrast-adaptive weights
Integration:
- FSR2 replaces both FSR1 and MSAA when enabled
- Scene renders to internal resolution framebuffer (no MSAA)
- Compute passes run between scene and swapchain render passes
- Camera cut detection resets history on teleport
- Quality presets shared with FSR1 (0.50-0.77 scale factors)
- UI: "Upscaling" combo with Off/FSR 1.0/FSR 2.2 options
- Overlap M2 and character animation updates via std::async (~2-5ms saved)
- Thread-local collision scratch buffers for concurrent floor queries
- Parallel terrain/WMO/M2 floor queries in camera controller
- Seed new M2 instance bones from existing siblings to eliminate pop-in flash
- Fix shadow flicker: snap center along stable light axes instead of in view space
- Increase shadow distance default to 300 units (slider max 500)
- Add movementSuppressTimer to camera controller that forces all movement
keys to read as false, preventing held W key from carrying through
loading screens (fixes always-running-forward after instance portals)
- Increase shadow frustum default from 60 to 72 units (+20%)
- Make shadow distance configurable via setShadowDistance() (40-200 range)
- Add shadow distance slider in Video settings tab (persisted to config)
- Stronger wall collision push (0.35/0.15) and swept push (0.45/0.25)
for interior/exterior WMOs to reduce clipping through tunnel walls
- Use all triangles (not just pre-classified walls) for collision checks
- Allow invisible collidable triangles (MOPY 0x01 without 0x20) to block
- Pass insideWMO flag to all collision callers, match swim sweep to ground
- Widen swept hit detection radius from 0.15 to 0.25
- Restrict camera zoom to 12 units inside WMO interiors
- Fix /unstuck launching player above WMOs: remove +20 fallback, use
gravity when no floor found
- Slash and Enter keys always focus chat unless already typing
Fix VK_ERROR_DEVICE_LOST crash by allocating per-frame scene history
images (color + depth) instead of a single shared image that raced
between frames in flight. Water refraction can now be toggled via
Settings > Video > Water Refraction.
Without refraction: richer blue base colors, animated caustic shimmer,
and normal-based color shifts give the water visible life. With
refraction: clean screen-space refraction with Beer-Lambert absorption.
Disabling clears scene history to black for immediate fallback.
Two bugs in SMSG_MESSAGECHAT parser for MONSTER_SAY/YELL/EMOTE:
1. Sender name included trailing null byte from server (nameLen includes
null terminator). The embedded null in std::string caused ImGui to
truncate the concatenated display string at the NPC name, hiding
" says: <message>" entirely.
2. Missing NamedGuid receiver name for non-player/non-pet targets. When
the receiver GUID is a creature, the server writes an additional
SizedCString (target name) that we weren't reading, shifting all
subsequent field reads.
Also adds MONSTER_WHISPER, MONSTER_PARTY, RAID_BOSS_EMOTE, RAID_BOSS_WHISPER
chat types with proper parsing and display formatting (says/yells/whispers).
- Fix shutdown hang: skip vmaDestroyAllocator (walked thousands of allocations),
replace unsafe pthread_timedjoin_np with plain join + early-exit checks in workers
- Bank window: full icon rendering, click-and-hold pickup (0.10s), drag-drop for
all bank slots including bank bag equip slots, same-slot drop detection
- Loading screen: process one tile per frame for live progress updates
- Camera reset: trust server position in online mode to avoid spawning under WMOs
- Fix PLAYER_BYTES/PLAYER_BYTES_2 field indices, preserve purchasedBankBagSlots
across inventory rebuilds, fix bank slot purchase result codes
Parse SMSG_PARTY_MEMBER_STATS and SMSG_PARTY_MEMBER_STATS_FULL packets
so party frames display health, power, level, and online status even
when group members are not nearby. Expansion-aware field sizes: uint16
health for Classic/TBC, uint32 for WotLK, plus per-expansion aura and
vehicle seat handling.
- Force binary loading for SkillLine.dbc (CSV exports are garbled)
- Handle quoted numeric values in DBC CSV parser
- Fix bank slot drag-and-drop to use mouse-release detection instead
of click detection, preventing item drops on wrong slots
- Fix action bar item drop to use hoveredOnRelease for consistency
- Add item class/subclass category filters (Weapon, Armor, etc.) with correct WoW 3.3.5a IDs
- Add sell item picker dropdown with icons and Create Auction button
- Add pagination (Prev/Next) for browse results with filter preservation
- Add Buy/Bid action buttons to Bids tab
- Add item icons and stat tooltips on hover across all three tabs
- Add Enter-to-search from name field and search delay countdown
- Parse SMSG_AUCTION_OWNER/BIDDER_NOTIFICATION into chat messages
- Auto-refresh browse results after bid/buyout using saved search params
- Clamp level range inputs to 0-80
- CMSG_SEND_MAIL now includes item GUIDs (up to 12 per WotLK)
- Right-click items in bags to attach when mail compose is open
- Compose window shows 12-slot attachment grid with item icons
- Click attached items to remove them
- Classic/Vanilla falls back to single item GUID format
Bank window slots now act as drop targets when holding an item from
inventory. Empty bank slots highlight green, and clicking drops the
held item via CMSG_SWAP_ITEM. Occupied bank slots accept swaps too.
Works for both main bank slots (39-66) and bank bag slots (67+).
- vk_utils.hpp: mark unused 'msg' parameter with [[maybe_unused]]
- world_packets.cpp: write exactMatch field to auction list packet
(was accepted as parameter but never serialized)
- game_screen.cpp: remove unused bagIcons array and unused info variable
- talent_screen.cpp: remove unused nextRank and pMin variables
Remove isInterior restriction from WMO shadow sampling so city
buildings (flagged as interior groups) correctly receive shadows.
Apply shadow to interior-lit surfaces. Enable shadows by default
and persist the setting across sessions.
Zoom speed now scales with distance for fine control near the character.
Default max zoom out reduced from 50 to 33 units. New "Extended Camera
Zoom" toggle in Gameplay settings restores the full 50-unit range.
- Tighten celestial glow falloff and edge fade to eliminate visible quad boundary
- Add opacity support to minimap display shader, synced with UI opacity setting
- Fix audio double/triple-scaling by removing redundant master volume multiplications
- Rename "Original Soundtrack" toggle to "Enable WoWee Music"
- Add About tab with developer info and GitHub link
Audio was being scaled by master volume multiple times: once via
ma_engine_set_volume, again per-sound in AudioEngine, and again
via pre-multiplication in the UI. Removed redundant master volume
multiplications so each channel volume is independent and master
applies once through the engine. Added About tab to settings with
developer info and GitHub link.
- Add aura icons below target frame with buff/debuff color coding
- Show spell icons with hover tooltips and duration countdowns
- Change SPELL_FAILED_ONLY_SHAPESHIFT message to cover warrior stances
Extends the WMO normal mapping/POM system to character M2 models with
bone-skinned tangents. Auto-generates normal/height maps from diffuse
textures using luminance→height, Sobel→normals (same algorithm as WMO).
- Expand vertex buffer from M2Vertex (48B) to CharVertexGPU (56B) with
tangent vec4 computed via Lengyel's method in setupModelBuffers()
- Tangents are bone-transformed and Gram-Schmidt orthogonalized in the
vertex shader, output as TBN for fragment shader consumption
- Fragment shader gains POM ray marching, normal map blending, and LOD
crossfade via dFdx/dFdy (identical to WMO shader)
- Descriptor set 1 extended with binding 2 for normal/height sampler
- Settings (enable, strength, POM quality) wired from game_screen.cpp
to both WMO and character renderers via shared UI controls
POM fixes: use blurred height only for ray march (keep crisp Sobel for
normals), reduce pomScale 0.03→0.012, clamp grazing angle denominator
to 0.15, hard-limit max UV offset, smooth fadeout at steep view angles.
Add Normal Map Strength slider (0.0-2.0) in Video settings for user
control over surface detail intensity. Persisted across sessions.
Generate normal+height maps from diffuse textures at load time using
luminance-to-height and Sobel 3x3 filtering. Compute per-vertex tangents
via Lengyel's method for TBN basis construction.
Fragment shader uses screen-space UV derivatives (dFdx/dFdy) for smooth
LOD crossfade and angle-adaptive POM sample counts. Flat textures
naturally produce low height variance, causing POM to self-select off.
Settings: Normal Mapping on by default, POM off by default with
Low/Medium/High quality presets. Persisted across sessions.
Replace all glGenTextures/glTexImage2D calls in UI code with Vulkan texture
uploads via new VkContext::uploadImGuiTexture() helper. This fixes segfaults
from calling OpenGL functions without a GL context (null GLEW function pointers).
- Add uploadImGuiTexture() to VkContext with staging buffer upload pattern
- Convert game_screen, inventory_screen, spellbook_screen, talent_screen
from GLuint/GL calls to VkDescriptorSet/Vulkan uploads
- Fix loading_screen clearValueCount (was 1, needs 2 or 3 for MSAA)
- gate selection-circle rendering to UNIT and PLAYER targets only
- clear selection circle for non-unit target types (including gameobjects)
- keep target position updates unchanged for facing/interaction logic
- reduce per-tile ground clutter generation pressure and enforce tighter caps to avoid spikes
- remove expensive detail dedupe scans from the hot render path
- add progressive/lazy clutter updates around player movement to smooth frame pacing
- lower noisy runtime INFO logging to DEBUG/throttled paths
- keep terrain/game screen updates responsive while preserving existing behavior
- make tab-target accept units that are either faction-hostile or actively aggressive toward the player\n- fix cases where enemies remain un-tab-targetable after combat starts due to stale/friendly faction state\n- prefer hostile UNIT picks over nearby GAMEOBJECT picks for both left-click target and right-click interact flows\n- keep existing dead-unit filtering and interaction behavior intact while improving combat target acquisition
